Woman impersonates cleaner, steals from residents, police say
A woman has been charged with burglary for posing as a hired cleaner and allegedly stealing from residents’ rooms.
Lee County’s Sheriff’s Office arrested Kelly Lockard August 12 for rummaging through at least four apartments at the Fountain Crest Retirement Community in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Management for the facility’s corporate owner, Sunshine Retirement Living, said Lockard gave legitimate information when she signed in, but staff realized after a few visits Lockard didn’t know the people she claimed to be visiting, NBC-2 reports.
Sunshine Retirement Living said a security monitor is present at Fountain Crest’s front doors at all times.
