WISQARS: CDC online resource for injury data
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) recently announced that its tutorials on WISQARS (Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System) make the database easier for researchers, healthcare personnel and other interested parties to navigate. Data are provided from a variety of trusted sources.
On the interactive site, you will find data on fatal and non-fatal injuries, violent deaths, leading causes of death and more. The WISQARS tutorial guides the user how to efficiently navigate the site to search, sort and view the information needed to create reports, maps, slides and more.
Analysis of data from specific topics help educate interested parties about public health and the economic burden of injuries in the United States.
