The RSNA Annual Meeting
Each year the Radiological Society of North America hosts the largest meeting of radiology professionals in the world. The RSNA Annual Meeting is synonymous with education, professional networking and radiology / technology vendors. Taking place this week at Chicago’s McCormickCenter is a showcase of hundreds of radiology and technology vendors surrounded by a diverse gathering of radiology professionals, IT professionals and others. For one whole week in one place you can find everything radiology from barium supplies and lead aprons to tomorrow’s digital imaging and PACS technology. Buyers, sellers, inventors and educators all in one convention center creating a Radiology Mecca.
This annual convention is a trip that everyone in radiology must make at least once in their life. Hosted in the windy city immediately following Thanksgiving; the hotels have no vacancies, the restaurants are booked solid and the train/cab lines are around the corner. I’ve had the pleasure of attending RSNA several times both as a radiology manager and a vendor. I must say its bigger and more exciting every time I attend and much more fun as a potential buyer. Whether you’re buying, selling, learning or just looking around, the key word is FUN. With the anticipation of 40,000 plus attendees, RSNA 2007 will surely highlight something new and interesting in Digital Imaging and PACS.
