Targeting patient safety through IT
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is targeting funding at improving patient/resident safety, using information technology (IT) tools at long-term care facilities and ambulatory care centers.
The funding will support investigative research and the development of evidence-based strategies to create and implement IT tools.
“As applicable, work should include a focus on issues relevant to underserved and vulnerable populations which include Federally Qualified Health Centers, Community Health Centers, safety-net hospital outpatient departments, physician offices and long-term care facilities,” according to an AHRQ release.
Long-term care facilities, including nursing homes, assisted living communities, residential care homes and home care providers are eligible to apply for this funding.
