Retirement community to launch video series on senior health issues

Morningside Ministries, a San Antonio, Texas-based nonprofit that provides affordable retirement living for seniors in need, has won a $350,000 multi-year grant to expand its educational video series for seniors and caregivers.

The grant, awarded by the Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc., will be used to expand Morningside Ministries' online training program at https://www.mmlearn.org, according to a Humana press release.

The series provides not only a support network for caregivers, but a variety of educational videos covering senior health topics such as dementia, diabetes, nutrition, medication management, sexuality, hospice care and grief. Preventive education also covers fall prevention, senior exercise routines and caregiver wellness.
