Residents, caregivers celebrate National Assisted Living Week
America’s assisted living communities are celebrating residents and caregivers for National Assisted Living Week (NALW).
“I’m inspired by the amazing work provided every day in assisted living communities across the country,” said Scott Tittle, executive director of the National Center for Assisted Living, sponsor of NAWL. “Hundreds of thousands of caregivers are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care to each individual resident. We hope members of the public will take the opportunity to National Assisted Living Week to visit an assisted living community and witness this devotion first-hand.”
This year’s festivities are focused on Nourishing Life: Mind, Body and Spirit and how caregivers and residents enrich each other’s lives. This is the 20th anniversary of NALW.
Events and special activities began Sunday with the observance of Grandparents’ Day and continue through Saturday. Staff, residents, families, volunteers and members of the community are encouraged to share their celebrations on social media using the hashtag #NALW.
