The New Wave of Foodservice Technology in Senior Care

We’ve heard it all before: When it comes to the long-term care industry, the mainstream media tend to target facilities and professionals who’ve fallen short in caring for our senior community. And while exposing those who’ve done wrong or worse is right and necessary, there are countless untold stories of those who are doing good, important work—for their residents, their staff, and their facilities. Those stories deserve attention, too.

In the September issue of Long-Term Living, we do just that with our annual OPTIMA Award feature, which honors an LTC program that has changed a facility’s culture for the betterment of its community. This year we celebrate Mather Pavilion, Evanston, Illinois, which dramatically reduced staff turnover and ultimately improved resident care by developing a successful and empowering workforce initiative program.
