Brookdale appoints new COO, CFO
Labeed Diab, a registered pharmacist, joins Brookdale Senior Living as chief operating officer (COO). Most recently, Diab served as president of health and wellness for Walmart’s U.S. division. At Walmart he was responsible for overseeing the company’s health and wellness services across the country.
Lucinda (Cindy) Baier will join the company as chief financial officer (CFO). She brings 15 years of financial experience and leadership. Baier is expected to join the company on Dec. 1, when Mark Ohlendorf, president/CFO will step down from that role and continue to serve as Brookdale’s president.
“I am excited to welcome Labeed and Cindy, who bring decades of executive experience in large organizations with complex multi-site businesses, to help lead our organization,” said Brookdale CEO Andy Smith in a statement.
Mary Sue Patchett has been promoted to executive vice president—community and field operations. She has been with the company since 2011.
Brookdale Senior Living operates in 47 states and can serve more than 110,000 residents in its senior care communities.
Sandra Hoban was on I Advance Senior Care / Long-Term Living’s editorial staff for 17 years. She is one of the country’s longest-serving senior care journalists. Before joining Long-Term Living, she was a member of the promotions department at Advanstar Communications. In addition to her editorial experience, Sandi has served past roles in print and broadcast advertising as a traffic and talent coordinator.
