New online Alzheimer’s course for direct care staff
A free online course offered by the National Certification Board for Alzheimer’s Care (NCBAC) is now available for professional caregivers. “Introductions to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD),” presents an overview of how to work with people with ADRD and their families.
Understanding the disease is an important aspect of providing quality care for people with Alzheimer’s regardless of the care setting. This one-hour course is available through Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes and is approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The mission of the NCBAC is to provide a benchmark for core competencies and knowledge for those who provide care and education in the field of dementia.
