New connectivity platform integrates data from wearables, sensors
Valtronic Technologies, with U.S. headquarters in Solon, Ohio, has developed a fully-integrated connectivity platform designed for web-enabled medical devices, including implants and wearable sensors.
Its Compendium Solutions platform gathers physiological data from medical devices and sensors and transmits the data to a biometrically controlled reader, which secures the information and ensures that it is specific to the proper individual, the company explains in a press release. The information is then converted into a Bluetooth signal and sent to the cloud and to the individual's physician or caregiver for real-time monitoring.
All patient data is 100 percent HIPAA compliant, the company says, and additional security features such as facial, iris and fingerprint recognition sensors also are available.
