Netsmart buys HealthMEDX, invests in LTC
Netsmart is acquiring long-term care electronic health records vendor HealthMEDX in a deal that will bring Netsmart directly into the long-term and post-acute care market. The combination of the two companies’ technology offerings also brings new positioning in the community-based health services and healthcare data analytics for outcomes-driven care delivery.
“The acquisition of HealthMEDX is a major new building block on our journey to build a comprehensive platform to serve community-based providers,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine in a press release. “Managing the health of populations is impossible without tight integration between large health systems and the various community-based providers.”
As a technology platform provider, Netsmart serves more than 24,000 organizations across all 50 states, including behavioral health, hospice and palliative care, and community-based healthcare services.
“Netsmart provides the scale and solutions to help providers evolve to the world of value-based care, the ‘new normal’ for all of healthcare, including LTC,” added Pamela Pure, CEO of HealthMEDX.
