Medication Management Partners gets a new CEO
Medication Management Partners (MMP), Crestwood, Illinois, a leading long-term care pharmacy specializing in assisted living and memory care communities, is pleased to welcome Ron Weinert to its evolving leadership team. As Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Weinert will be accountable for compliance, business and product line development, business intelligence, and strategic innovation and growth initiatives.
Mr. Weinert brings 36 years of diverse pharmacy leadership experience and relationship building to bear on MMP’s vision. Prior to joining MMP he served in a series of increasingly responsible leadership roles with Walgreens, most recently as Vice-President of Accountable Care Services reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
“Ron’s depth and breadth of expertise align seamlessly with MMP’s growth trajectory,” said Labinot Avdiu, MMP’s CEO. “Our goal is to become the national long term care pharmacy leader in assisted living and memory care. With Ron on board we’re well on our way to achieving that goal.”
Mr. Weinert began his career as a pharmacist. After overseeing substantial growth at multiple Chicago area Walgreens pharmacies he began a strategic leadership role that involved fundamentally changing the way Walgreens engaged customers. As an innovation leader Mr. Weinert piloted and deployed a reengineered Walgreens’ pharmacy process. Starting with incubator pharmacies in the Midwest he brought new technologies, operating models, workflows, and staff roles into production. This pioneering effort grew to become Walgreens’ new national operations standard for its pharmacies.
“Long term care communities are generally underserved by pharmacy vendors,” said Mr. Weinert. “With its world class team of professionals, MMP delivers a unique blend of high tech and high touch value. I look forward to enhancing, scaling and customizing MMP’s solutions while ensuring first-rate quality.”
As a strategic change agent for MMP, Mr. Weinert will leverage his experience transforming Walgreens from a traditional brick & mortar operation to the United States’ leading online pharmacy retailer. Driven by ambitious goals and a keen understanding of customer behavior, he led development and deployment of Walgreens’ web and e-commerce initiatives. He effectively integrated new online assets with pharmacies resulting in increased customer engagement via cohesive digital and traditional customer experiences. His work resulted in five US patents and numerous industry awards.
With compliance top of mind in long term care communities, MMP and its partners will benefit from Mr. Weinert’s substantial experience in regulatory affairs and government relations. He represented Walgreens and the pharmacy industry to federal legislators and regulators for healthcare reform, in the process educating state governments and building strong, diverse relationships across the healthcare industry.
Mr. Weinert is a past member of the Illinois State Board of Pharmacy, an Emeritus Dean’s Advisory Board member of Rosalind Franklin University College of Pharmacy, and a Dean’s Advisory Board member at University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Dare2Tri, a 501C3 organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities.
