MatrixCare joins data exchange collaborative
MatrixCare, a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) systems for long-term care, has become the first senior care EHR company to join the founding group of the Carequality collaborative.
Carequality, whose 30+ founding members include the American Medical Association, Kaiser Permanente and the New York eHealth Collaborative, strives to bring together health information exchange networks, providers and technology vendors in developing an interoperability platform for sharing health data and connecting care entities. The collaborative hopes to build consensus on a core set of capabilities that enable connectivity among existing networks, including implementation-level functionality, standards-based technical and testing requirements, trust policies and operational practices for inter-network connectivity.
MatrixCare’s involvement in the collaborative provides key viewpoints into data documentation and exchange discussion, especially since EHR information and data sets used within the LTC field are different from the data sets used in hospitals.
