The New Wave of Foodservice Technology in Senior Care

Love goes viral

It’s summer wedding season, and one couple is taking social media by storm.

Cleveland “Murphy” Wilson, 70, and Lucinda Myers, 67, took engagement photos at the encouragement of Wilson’s adult daughters. Gianna Snell Photography shared some of the photos of the couple at a local park sitting on a bench, dancing, holding hands, in laughing embrace and kissing. Wilson even held a chalkboard sign above his head that reads, “She Said YES!!!”

That photo quickly went viral after thousands of people commented, liked and shared them, including actors Tia Mowry and Niecy Nash.

“It’s not every day that you see senior citizens so excited and giddy about getting married,” Snell writes on her blog. “That’s why even on the day that I met this duo in the park to capture images for their engagement announcement, bystanders were drawn to them. There were teenage girls, families and young couples who stopped what they were doing to take in this rare glimpse of an older couple whose love was so new that they couldn’t take their eyes off of each other. Their love was magnetic.”

The couple’s courtship is quite the storybook romance. Wilson, who was widowed, and Myers, who was divorced, met in the church balcony about two years ago. There were brief encounters but it wasn’t until greetings before the service that Wilson complimented her outfit. The flirtation started, they began dating in April, got engaged in May and plan to marry July 29 in Huntsville, Alabama.

“We just feel in love, instantly,” Myers told WAFF.

“She swept me off my feet. I just feel in love with this gorgeous woman,” Wilson told ABC News. “And, of course, she fell in love with me because of my charm and suave.”
