Law firm launches nursing home neglect site
A Michigan personal injury law firm has launched a new consumer website dedicated to nursing home neglect.
The Michigan Nursing Home Lawyer site will explain various types of neglect—including falls, malnutrition, bed sores, inadequate monitoring and medication errors—and the legal rights of consumers if neglect is determined.
The site will also include information on Michigan’ s nursing home regulations, notable court rulings on law suits, currrent legal news, updates on federal healthcare law, and links to outside resources.
“We wanted to create a one-stop resource for victims of Michigan nursing home neglect and abuse to learn about their legal rights,” said Daniel Buckfire, a parter at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C., of Southfield, Mich. in a press release. “It is more important than ever to monitor the safety of our loved ones who move from independent living into a nursing care facility.”
Although the site uses a .org address, it makes no attempt to hide its direct affiliation with the law firm, including large advertisements for the firm’s free consultations and “no-win, no-pay” policy.
The site is Michigan-specific but could spawn other sites in similar states.
