The New Wave of Foodservice Technology in Senior Care

KLAS names top vendors in LTC

Orem, Utah-based KLAS Research is well known for its reporting on technology vendors who serve the acute care space. But its annual report on software vendors also includes ratings for several vendors who provide technology solutions for the long-term care (LTC) market.

Based on performance ratings judged by healthcare professionals who use the products or services, the 2014 Best in KLAS: Software and Services report named PointClickCare, a cloud-based electronic health record designed for the senior care market, as the LTC category leader for 2014. This is the second consecutive year this company has led the category.

HealthMEDX Vision took second place, just four-tenths of a point shy from first. MatrixCare ranked third, followed by American HealthTech, AOD Software Answers and NTT DATA NetSoultions.

As the trend toward "aging at home" continues, KLAS also has begun to rank home care solutions. In this category, ThornBerry NDoc won Best in KLAS for 2014. Delta Encore ranked second, and Kinnser Agency Manager took the third place spot, followed by Epic EpicCare Home Health, Homecare Homebase and Brightree Home Health.

The list also included several parent companies that have a strong presence in the acute care market as well: Allscripts Homecare, McKesson Homecare and Cerner Extended Care Home Health.

The integration of medical devices has become a vital part of clinical settings, whether it's in hospital or a skilled nursing facility. In the category of medical device integration systems solutions, KLAS ranks Capsule DataCaptor in first place, followed by Cerner CareAware iBus and NantHealth DeviceConX (iSirona).
