Kindred partners with Avalere for improved data analytics
Kindred Healthcare, Inc. will partner with Avalere Health, an Inovalon Company, to improve clinical outcomes through data analytics.
The multi-year agreement will help the nation’s largest provider of post-acute care (PAC) services to better analyze data and outcomes to engage payers under the new value-based payment models.
"As Medicare and Medicaid evolve toward bundling and capitated arrangements, health plans and providers are demanding post-acute care solutions that deliver value," says Dan Mendelson, president of Avalere Health. "Our solutions will enable Kindred to contract for value across the post-acute care service spectrum."
Inovalon will contribute data, analytics and real-time healthcare platforms with Avalere’s experience in healthcare economics and PAC strategy. That will allow Kindred to run predictive analytics in real time at the point of care to support patient quality, improve efficiency, operational insight and financial performance. Hospitals and health plans can access patient-level assessments of post-acute care value as a basis for site selection and contracting.
"Post-acute care is the fastest-growing segment of healthcare in the United States," says Keith Dunleavy, MD, CEO of Inovalon. "As the trend toward quality and value-based care models increases, the importance of data-driven insights has never been more critical to success."
