Joint Commission launches new infection prevention portal
The Joint Commission is consolidating its resources into a single portal dedicated to infection prevention and healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs).
The new Infection Prevention and HAI Portal includes everything from seasonal influenza information and hand hygiene to drug-resistant infection prevention strategies and antimicrobial stewardship. The site also care-sector-specific information for nursing care centers, home care and others, as well as resources on emergency management of infection outbreaks.
"The Joint Commission strives to provide the best possible resources for health care professionals in a way that is easy for them to access," said Ana Pujols McKee, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer of The Joint Commission, in a press release. "Our new Infection Prevention and HAI Portal accomplishes this by offering one simple place to find the most up-to-date information on these very important infection issues."
