HHS names its first Health Care Innovation Award winners

The Department of Health and Human Services has announced the first 26 organizations to receive Health Care Innovation awards. The awards are intended to reduce healthcare spending by $254 million over the next three years.

The project innovations implemented by the award-winning organizations across the country aim to provide better health and improved care to Medicare, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program recipients.

The first award recipients were selected for their insights and solutions to the healthcare problems in their communities. In addition, these projects will also focus on training people to fulfill the demand for future healthcare positions in the coming years.

Innovations  range from  improving  patient-centered Alzheimer’s /dementia care to  linking patients to community-based services for pharmacy service and more. Click here to learn more about these initial innovators and their projects.
