Guardian Pharmacy Atlanta grows base by 75% with new acquisition

Guardian Pharmacy of Atlanta, a leading long-term care pharmacy and locally-owned member of the Guardian Pharmacy family, today announced the acquisition of Collier's Personal Care Pharmacy. This strategic expansion comes as Guardian Atlanta celebrates five years in business providing exceptional pharmacy services to group homes, assisted living and skilled nursing communities throughout Georgia.

The acquisition increases the pharmacy’s resident customer base by more than 75 percent. Hank Heller, co-founder of Colliers Pharmacy, will stay on board with Guardian Atlanta as an account management consultant. In addition, the current Collier’s staff of 22 employees will join the Guardian Atlanta team, increasing its employee count by more than 55 percent. To support this new growth, Guardian Atlanta will double the size of its pharmacy, moving into a new 16,000 sq. ft. facility this spring.

The pharmacy also announced it will now offer InspectRx, an innovative system that manually checks medication pouches to ensure the right pill is in the right pouch for the right patient. InspectRx closes the loop on quality control and communication with pharmacy staff and facilities and decreases the risk of potential medication errors.

Harbor Healthcare Consultants, a boutique merger and acquisition firm, was also involved in the deal as they served as the exclusive advisor to Collier’s Personal Care Pharmacy.
