Glen Campbell moves to Alzheimer’s facility
Glen Campbell has moved into a long-term care facility, media outlets are reporting. The 78-year-old country singer announced that he had Alzheimer's disease in 2011 before embarking on a farewell concert tour.
A family friend tells People magazine that Campbell moved into a memory care facility last week and that permanent living arrangements may be firmed up next week.
A documentary made during the entertainer's "Goodbye Tour" is expected to debut today in Nashville, Tenn., according to People. The film details the experiences of Campbell and his family as they deal with the disease's progression. In March, LeadingAge and EMA presented awards to Campbell and his family, as well as to the documentary's director/producer and other producer, for their “exceptional leadership in the quest to improve the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.”
