The New Wave of Foodservice Technology in Senior Care

EFA off to sunny start

CORONADO, CALIFORNIA—Beneath sunny California skies, attendees at Environments for Aging.10 began the conference yesterday with preconference tours to choose from; sessions on private partnership, alternative housing, bathroom accessibility standards, and access to nature; the SAGE/AIA Student Design Competition; a keynote address by George Eman Vaillant, MD, on Designing the Inner Environment During the Last Decades of Life; the 2010 DESIGN/Environments for Aging Citations of Merit Awards presentation; and topped off by a gala reception in the exhibit hall. It was a full opening day, to be sure.

This year, more than 400 attendees and 25 exhibitors are taking advantage of the offerings of Environments for Aging.10 at the historic Hotel del Coronado. The comprehensive, three-day conference will explore new ideas for creating appealing and supportive places for people as they age. Architects, developers, owners, facility managers, design professionals, care providers, product manufacturers, and government officials will choose from 30 continuing education sessions covering all aspects of environments for aging.

Conference organizers say next year’s Environments for Aging.11 conference will be at the Sheraton Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia, March 20-22, 2011.
