Eden Alternative acquires Lifespan Network’s Wellspring program
The merger announced today brings together two not-for-profit organizations focused on advancing excellence through culture change in nursing homes and Lifespan Network’s Wellspring program will become part of The Eden Alternative effective June 1, 2012.
The Eden Alternative focuses on transformation of the care environment for both residents and employees. Wellspring’s mission is to improve the clinical delivery of care and putting the needs of the person above that of the institutions.
United under one name, The Eden Alternative claims to offer the most comprehensive culture change resources and education services focused on person-driven care. The merger combines each organization’s strengths to focus on both the cultural and clinical aspects of long-term care.
Dr. Bill Thomas, co-founder of The Eden Alternative, said in a press release, “The consolidation between The Eden Alternative and Wellspring is clear evidence for the growing need and market for an all-encompassing culture change organization that can address both the clinical and cultural changes required to deliver person-directed care.”
