CCRC expands by demand
One continuing care retirement community (CCRC) is experiencing growing pains.
Chateau Girardeau in Girardeau, Mo., is expanding its community, and it can’t grow as bag or fast enough to meet demand.
“The demand for independent-living estate homes has grown,” says Kim Wilson, director of marketing at Chateau Girardeau, to the Southeast Missourian. “There’s currently a waiting list for estate homes here.”
Chateau Girardeau serves 251 residents in independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. The CCRC plans to add eight more new estate homes expected to be finished by Spring 2017.
The new single-dwelling estate homes will be similar to its 37 existing estates. They will mostly be two-bedroom, 2 ½ bath homes with an average of 1,900 square feet of space. They will feature an open-concept design, a main bedroom with an en suite, kitchen, laundry room and enclosed sunroom.
