Buzzfeed gets serious about Alzheimer’s disease
Social news site Buzzfeed is getting people talking about memory loss.
Buzzfeed—producer of video series Try Guys, Weird Couples, Nifty, Tasty and Whine About It—has made a three-minute film called “Loving someone with Alzheimer’s.”
The scripted drama shows the relationship between a young woman and her mother with Alzheimer’s disease. It captures the hurt of the present and the struggle to remember happier memories. Nothing changes and everything changes as the daughter realizes her mother is still her mother.
The video has been viewed more than 880,000 views on YouTube since it was published April 18. More than 3,400 people have shared their own experiences with Alzheimer’s disease and their emotional response to the film.
