Antimicrobial touch screen protectors thwart germ spread
In a clinical environment where mobile devices and LCD touch screen displays are often touched by many individuals, there is always the threat that these surfaces can be harboring germs and viruses. And while the use of alcohol wipes can be effective, Newtown, Penn.-based NyShield Inc. has developed an antimicrobial screen protector for use on LCD and LED screens.
In laboratory tests using Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and colon bacteria like Escherichia coli., the NuShield Triple A screen protectors were reported to reduce these microbes by 99% over a 24-hour period.
The company also claims that these screen protectors have an anti-glare surface and can be easily applied and removed.
