Alice Bonner, MD, earns Champion of Quality Award from AHCA/NCAL
The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) has named Alice Bonner, MD as the 2015 Champion of Quality Award recipient. Bonner earned the award for her contributions to quality in the long-term and post-acute care community.
According to an AHCA/NCAL press release, Bonner co-led the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services National Partnership to Improve Dementia Care in Nursing Homes. She helped establish coalitions in all 50 states and contributed to a 13/1 percent reduction in the antipsychotic drug use over 18 months.
"Alice’s passion for quality care combined with her ability to inspire and engage leaders from diverse sectors has benefited the lives of those we care for every day," said Mary Ousley, AHCA Quality Cabinet Co-Chair and namesake of the award in the press release. "Her dedication and pioneering work continues to make a positive impact. This recognition is well-deserved for Alice."
