AG Architecture is a full-service architectural engineering firm that continues a more than 35-year commitment to innovative senior living design nationwide. At AG, senior living is not just a smaller studio in a larger firm; it is the central focus of our practice. Whether the task at hand involves new construction, an addition, or a complete repositioning of an existing community, our goal is straightforward—to improve the quality of life for our ever-growing senior population.

Will you be applying principles of sustainable or “green” design to long-term care projects and, if so, how?

Clients, especially those in the Chicago area, are looking to us to guide them through educated, sustainable decisions. Whether going for LEED accreditation or not, we are using LEED checklists to address sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and the atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. Landscaped roofscapes and PVC white roofs, high energy-compliant appliances, high energy-efficient building envelopes, solar lighting and low VOC products are some of the specific elements being incorporated into several of our projects.
