A remedy for medication management
Technology designed by and for nurses will soon help dispense prescriptions in long-term and post-acute care in Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy has granted Remedi SeniorCare approval to dispense medications using the company’s packaging technology, PAXIT. The robotic dispensing technology allows for daily dosing, helpful in states like Oklahoma where drug returns are prohibited.
“In addition to better resident safety, it allows Remedi to provide significant cost savings to the long-term care facilities we service,” says Gara Wilsie, Remedi’s Oklahoma pharmacy general manager. “With our daily auto dispensing, inventory is reduced to a two-day supply, dramatically decreasing waste and lowering facility cost.”
Remedi SeniorCare will have the capability to support 10,000 long-term care residents throughout Oklahoma starting in January 2017. The company services long-term and post-acute care facilities and assisted living communities.
