Acquisition expands access to digital health data

Durham, N.C.-based Validic has acquired Infometers, a Silicon Valley-based tech company. The deal will give Validic's clients, which include physicians, hospitals, wellness companies, pharmaceutical companies, payers and IT vendors, the ability to access patient data obtained from remote and mobile clinical devices.

The acquisition will integrate Validic's scalable, HIPAA-compliant technology platform with technology to tie in data gathered from mobile health devices and remote healthcare applications.

"With the increased adoption of mobile devices, patient health applications and intelligent sensors, remote patient monitoring has become a key strategic initiative for healthcare stakeholders," said Validic co-founder and CEO Ryan Beckland, in a press release posted on the company's website. "In working closely with our clients, we know that improving healthcare together will require accessing key data that can provide real-time clinical decision support, validated outcome measurement, remote patient management and more. With this acquisition of Infometers, we are excited that Validic continues to add value for our clients, helping them achieve greater access to the digital health devices they want, while getting the patient data they need."
