Post-acute care vendor joins interoperability group
CommonWell Health Alliance, a Washington, D,C.-based non-profit trade association made up of health IT companies, announced that Brightree, a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions for the post-acute care market, has joined as a contributing member.
Brightree becomes the first member of the alliance in the post-acute care field, according to a press release. It joins other healthcare companies including Allscripts, athenahealth, Cerner, CPSI, Greenway, McKesson, Sunquest, CVS Caremark, MEDHOST, and RelayHealth.
“Brightree is dedicated to representing the post-acute care community’s desire to help our nation reduce the cost of care while improving patient outcomes," said Dave Cormack, president and CEO of Brightree. "We believe the contributing membership gives us the highest level of involvement to ensure the unique workflows and needs of home health, long-term care and hospice providers are considered in setting new data-sharing standards across the complete continuum of care.”
With its growing membership, the alliance is now opening its doors to a broader array of healthcare organizations and vendors that are dedicated to improving health information technology so that healthcare data is available no mater where care is given or what IT systems are being used.
