ALFA’s Rick Grimes to retire
The president and CEO of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has announced his retirement.
“It has been a glorious 10 years and a privilege to serve the senior living business,” says Richard P. "Rick" Grimes, “and ALFA is well-positioned to continue on its trajectory of growth and success.” An executive search firm has been retained to assist in recruiting his successor.
ALFA was formed in 1990. The organization's recently concluded annual meeting was its largest and most successful, ALFA maintains, and 2013 was the group's most successful year.
“Rick’s retirement comes at a time when ALFA is working to prepare for the senior living industry of the future, including independent living, assisted living and memory care," says Brenda Bacon, chair of the ALFA Board of Directors. "Working together, we will focus on those issues so crucial to the provision of quality care alternatives for our nation's senior population and their families. Thanks to Rick, ALFA has the infrastructure, the professional staff and the financial strength to make that leap. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Rick and we wish him good fortune and good health in his retirement."
