BREAKING: Sebelius resigning HHS post
U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius is resigning, the New York Times and other national consumer media outlets are reporting.
President Barack Obama plans to nominate the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Sylvia Mathews Burwell, to replace her, government officials told the newspaper. He is expected to make the announcement tomorrow. We'll provided updated information as it becomes available.
Among the agencies under HHS are the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health.
