AHCA names ManorCare exec as government policy chief
Clifton Porter II has been named senior vice president and the head of government relations for the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (ACHA/NCAL). Prior to his selection, Porter spent eight years serving as vice president of government affairs for HCR ManorCare, one of the nation’s largest skilled nursing providers.
Porter will spearhead policy initiatives and represent AHCA/NCAL among federal agencies and legislators on Capitol Hill, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement policies. “[Clif] has worked at every level of the profession and will bring those personal experiences to every meeting with policymakers both on the Hill and within CMS, sharing a firsthand perspective on the issues that matter most to our members,” said AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson in an association release.
Porter’s term will begin in January.
