ALFA recognizes World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, with online tools to combat abuse
The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has joined other communities around the globe in its efforts to raise awareness on the many forms of elder abuse today in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. ALFA has online tools that show how prevalent elder abuse is and how to raise awareness. Information on how to report incidents of elder abuse is included.
In a release, ALFA President and CEO Richard P. Grimes said, “While almost all elder abuse occurs outside of professionally managed senior living communities, it is our obligation to inform and empower seniors in the battle against elder abuse and uphold our principles of dignity, choice, independence and quality of life for all seniors.”
