NIC Announces Speakers for March Regional Symposium

The National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry announced its keynote and general session speakers for the 2011 NIC Regional Symposium, taking place March 7-8 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The symposium, “New Opportunities, New Realities: What’s in Your Playbook?” will feature nine breakout sessions, three general sessions, and a special pre-event session.

Guest speakers include:

· Paul W. Dendy, president, Milestone Retirement Communities, LLC; Aaron Koelsch, CEO and president, Koelsch Senior Communities; and F. Fee Stubblefield, Jr., president, The Springs Living, LLC. Led by moderator Marc Thompson, senior vice president, Bank of the West, this executive-level panel of independent, assisted and memory care community CEOs will offer thoughts on operational, financial and other challenges owner/operators are facing today in, “What’s in Your Playbook?”

· Author and documentary filmmaker Ken Dychtwald, PhD, president and CEO of Age Wave, will deliver luncheon and keynote address, “Today’s Consumer, Tomorrow’s Consumer.” Dychtwald will discuss the mysteries of the senior consumer psyche—how it has changed and what it means for seniors housing and care.

· In “Economic Update: Color Commentary and Analysis for Your Game Strategy,” economics expert John Mitchell, principal of M&H Economic Consultants and former chief economist, U.S. Bancorp, will share his view on the current business climate and what’s next for the recovery of the U.S. economy during the closing general session and keynote address.

Additional topics covered during breakout sessions include strategies for recycling or repositioning older buildings, information metrics, the latest in sales and marketing techniques, lenders and their terms, loan package requirements, competing for capital, sourcing growth capital, how some companies faced maturities in their capital structure, and new strategies to drive NOI.
