Residents send their love to America’s bravest
In the May issue, Managing Editor Sandra Hoban reported in her story “Encouraging words” about a special project connecting residents with wounded soldiers. At the Holtsville, New York-based Island Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, activities staff encouraged residents to send greetings and get well messages to convalescing patients at Walter Reed Army Hospital and Bethesda Naval Hospital. This project included a video greeting card, “filmed in a wedding reception style with each resident sending their own personal greeting,” Hoban wrote.
