Deer crashes into nursing home
The deer went from the outside looking in to trying to get inside a nursing home in the Bronx.
Witnesses spotted the deer Tuesday morning on the back patio of the Citadel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Kingsbridge.
The New York Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit were called and shot the deer with a tranquilizer.
“They handled it well (and) kept everyone back until it was contained,” a Citadel spokesperson told The New York Post.
The animal was later euthanized.
The incident is another reminder that long-term care facilities need to have plans in place and be ready for any kind of emergency.
