NADONA and Ocean Spray partner to target antibiotic stewardship
The National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) has formed a new public/private partnership with Ocean Spray Cranberries designed to target Antibiotic Resistance and improve Antibiotic Stewardship efforts in America’s long-term and post-acute care facilities. The partnership is focused on clinical education, research, and public policy and advocacy to improve antibiotic stewardship across the continuum of care.
As part of this partnership, Ocean Spray is the exclusive sponsor of the new NADONA Antibiotic Stewardship Certificate of Mastery, an innovative webinar series to assist healthcare facilities with implementing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Core Elements, and a new annual award recognizing the most progressive antibiotic stewardship program nationally and also an antibiotic stewardship leader nominated by their facility. The inaugural winners will be announced at the 2018 NADONA Annual Conference being held June 22-27, 2018.
“NADONA is very excited about this new partnership to specifically reduce the impact of one of the single biggest public health threats of modern times—antibiotic resistance,” says Dr. J. Hudson Garrett Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for NADONA, in an organization announcement. “Through this exclusive partnership, Ocean Spray Cranberries and NADONA have come together as mission-focused partners working together to reduce overall rates of Antibiotic Resistance and also promote public health by advancing Antibiotic Stewardship. These collaborations are critical to fighting these complex healthcare problems and advancing resident safety.”
