Biodex exhibits assistive lifting device
Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. announces their debut exhibition at the ARN REACH annual conference, where they will highlight their newest medical innovation, the Mobility Assist. A safe patient handling and mobility device using motorized lifting technology, the Mobility Assist protects nurses while encouraging proper movements in weakened or injured patients.
OSHA cites manual lifting and moving of patients as the single greatest risk factor for injuries in healthcare workers, particularly for support staff such as nurses and aides. Safe patient handling and mobility programs using devices such as the Biodex Mobility Assist have been proven to decrease risk for worker and patient.
The lifting motion of the stand-assist and ambulation device encourages proper body movement – rather than just helping a patient stand up, it helps them stand the right way. The Mobility Assist is the latest in a line of Biodex products promoting safe patient handling and mobility.
“We’re very excited to be showing the device at REACH this year,” says Ed Behan, Vice President of Market Development for Biodex. “Safety is such a growing concern for rehab nurses, and the Mobility Assist helps drive the culture of safety so many are now working toward.”
