Silverado invests in Chicagoland for memory care

Silverado is adding another brick to its portfolio of memory care communities with another investment in the Windy City. The company begins construction this month on Silverado at St. Charles, a massive 47,000 sq. ft. community scheduled to open next year.

The new community, which can serve around 90 residents with cognitive impairments, will be the fifth Silverado community in the Chicagoland area.

The four-acre site includes design plans for sunrooms and skylights, a large outdoor courtyard and covered patios to encourage connection with outdoor spaces and natural light. Other planned amenities that are designed to encourage social interaction and quality of life include bistro dining, a country store, a salon and a spa.

“This week’s site dedication represents new hope for local families affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s and gives us an opportunity to use our expertise to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Silverado President, Chairman and CEO Loren B. Shook in a corporate release about the groundbreaking.  “Silverado’s skilled and compassionate associates—from the project planners to the teams who provide industry-leading memory care—are driven everyday by a desire to change the way the world cares for people with cognitive decline.”

Silverado has more than 52 locations across Arizona, California, Illinois, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
