HIMSS names new president and CEO
HIMSS (formerly the Health Information Management Systems Society) has named Harold “Hal” Wolf III as its new president and CEO after a seven-month search process. Wolf will replace the retiring Steven Lieber, who steered the helm for more than 17 years.
Wolf has more than 30 years of experience in information management and electronic care delivery, including serving as director of information and digital health strategy for The Chartis Group and as COO of Kaiser Permanente’s Federation.
"Hal is a globally respected thought leader and he has been part of the HIMSS leadership as a board member for the past four years," Lieber said in a Healthcare IT News article. "He knows the issues and he knows the organization. That's an incredible combination and contribution to HIMSS' work to achieve better care through IT. "
HIMSS is the preeminent North American association for healthcare information technology, representing 64,000 individual members, 640 corporate members and more than 450 non-profit organizations across the United States and Canada.
