Volunteers of America buys into Centrex Rehab
Centrex Rehab has a new part owner: Volunteers of America.
The buy-in will allow Centrex Rehab to nearly double in size and reach more people who need therapy and rehabilitation.
“We’re excited to begin this journey as we integrate our work into Volunteers of America’s various buildings and entities across multiple states,” says Kristy Brown, MS, CCC-SLP, President and CEO of Centrex Rehab in a press release. Centrex Rehab is a certified rehabilitation agency that offers a range of therapy solutions. The company’s other two owners are Augustana Care and Ebenezer.
Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization. In addition to its volunteer placement agency services, its health services division also operates skilled nursing facilities, independent and assisted living communities, adult day services, home health services and Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in nine states.
Volunteers of America decided becoming a part owner made the most sense as Centrex has an established physical presence and systems for services such as auditing and staffing.
Both organizations are working together to ensure a smooth transition, and Brown anticipates that services to clients will continue without interruption.
