Long-Term Living wins 3 Gold, 1 Bronze at ASBPE Regionals

We’re proud to announce that Long-Term Living has struck gold again, winning three gold awards at today’s American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) Heartland Region awards banquet in Cleveland.

  • Gold Award – Case History: "Project Survival 101: Managing refurbs and expansions" by Editor-in-Chief Pamela Tabar. The article explores the challenges of getting providers, architects and residents to work together to continue the delivery of quality senior care during major renovation projects.
  • Gold Award – Blogs, How-to Tips/Service: A set of three blogs ("Stroke? Think FAST," "The shock of elder abuse in assisted living," and "Battling Ebola and other threats, wherever we are"), by former Senior Editor Lois A. Bowers. The educational blogs address how to recognize the signs of stroke, how to prevent or stop abuse of residents and how to thwart the spread of infectious diseases.
  • Gold Award – Feature Article/General Interest: "2015 Business Outlook" by Lois A. Bowers. The piece discusses six critical business challenges facing the long-term care industry in 2015.
  • Bronze Award – Feature Article/General Interest: "Beyond Bingo" by contributing writer Ron Rajecki. The article explores the changing roles of activity professionals in today’s senior care settings.

Two of the above entries also won awards at the national level in July: Tabar’s "Project Survival 101" won the National Gold Award for its category and Bowers’ blog set won the National silver Award.

The ASBPE awards, also called the Azbees, serve as recognition of the best writing and design in business-to-business media, offers categories covering many aspects of publishing, from feature articles and blogs to graphic design and digital publishing.
