Long-Term Living articles win Press Club awards
Articles appearing in Long-Term Living won two awards presented June 5 in the All Ohio Excellence in Journalism competition organized by the Press Club of Cleveland. The contest was open to all journalists working in or publishing in the state via daily and other newspapers; consumer, trade, professional and business publications; radio; television; and websites. Long-Term Living's editorial efforts are based in Cleveland.
Lois A. Bowers received first place in the Best Features: Trends category for the December 2014 cover story she had written as senior editor of the brand. In her “2015 Business Outlook” article, Bowers “provided senior care providers with a comprehensive outlook for the coming year,” the judges said. The article, a competitor in the trade publications division of the contest, also was published online in multiple installments.
Long-Term Living contributor Ron Rajecki earned third-place honors in the Best in Ohio: Freelance Writer category. The category recognizes the “best of the best” for a body of work, according to Press Club of Cleveland President Michael E. Bennett. It was open to all freelance writers in the state completing work for daily and non-daily newspapers; consumer, trade, professional and business publications; or online media outlets. Rajecki’s entry included articles he had written for Long-Term Living and sister media brand Behavioral Healthcare as well as other work.
The 2015 All Ohio Excellence in Journalism is an annual competition that attracted “well over 900” entries this year, a record, Bennett said.
