150 seniors evacuated from W. Hollywood floods

A West Hollywood senior living apartment complex was evacuted on Sunday after heavy rain flooded the facility, according to NBC Los Angeles. 150 residents were displaced: many were able to find places to stay but 50 had to be taken to a Red Cross shelter while the city looked for a more permanent home.

NBC Los Angeles reports the apartment, which is government-assisted housing, flooded because most of the building's roof had been removed to install solar panels. It may be several weeks before residents can move back home.
